feed line?

I would like to make sure which is the return and feed line for my 83 240d. My lines are out of the bracket on the fender, so the outermost or inner line under the car, which is which?

One with the cigar hose is the return, the one going to the primary filter is the feed.

sorry my bad

I want to make sure my cigar and feed hoses are connected to the proper line. I think I could have inadvertently switched them.

I would compare some photos online but it will work either way, just one way bypasses the tank screen. Often times swapping them is what people do to be assured that the tank screen getting clogged is not an issue in a fuel related problem.
