Tranny guru's Can you answer this ??

What size banjo nut will I need to connect to the transmission of my 1995 e300d so that I can hook up a vacuum gauge to adjust the transmission accurately. Thanks

Get a rubber tee and tee into the signal going to the transmission. It should be hi at idle and fall off as you press on the throttle. The controller is trying to simulate the same vacuum signal you get off a gasoline engine.

Are you attempting to adjust vacuum or attempting to adjust transmission modulator pressure with a pressure gauge?

Your OP stated "vacuum gauge".........and that was the confusion. Jim's advice was based upon that.

My mistake I presume that this will adjust the tranny oil pressure then. Is that correct?

Now I see. You are wanting to measure hydraulic pressure and not vacuum.
I do not know the size of the banjo bolt. If you can take a pic of it and send it to Phil he can probably provide the size.

IIRC you can use the banjo bolt from the ALDA of a turbo 617.

Yes but a '95 E300 doesn't have a pressure signal line to the ALDA... if it even has an ALDA

Where are you at? If I can remember I'll look tomorrow to see if I have a spare laying around.
