Euro Non Turbo Wagons?

Hey Guys,

I hate these "what's it worth?" threads as much as the next guy, but I'm in a bit of a quandary: There is an '84 300TD non-turbo euro wagon (auto :(, 250k mi) F/S locally that I'd like to save from a lunatic that's threatening to put an American motor in it. I've had around a dozen 123 wagons in my life, but none for the last 8yrs or so, so I've kind of lost touch with what they're worth.

It's in nice shape: short bumpers, euro climate control (no dreaded ACC pod), almost entirely rust free, and completely unmolested. Needs: cleaning up, rear suspension work, tires, rear hatch shocks, driver's seat is tired (euro cloth) but all others are very nice. Nothing I can't handle.

Anyway, I have WAY too many cars right now to keep it, but I'd hate to see it get trashed. I'm tempted to grab, clean it up, and get it in the hands of an MB lover. But what could I expect to get for a clean nothing-special euro Non-turbo? I know what the American turbo's are worth and I'm assuming that a euro will be less, but by how much?

Some pertinent details: '84 300TD, non turbo, auto, 250k mi, short bumpers, euro trailer hitch, white on blue (not exactly a popular color), euro climate control, hand-crank windows, no sunroof...um... If I missed anything that would help, just ask.

Thanks for your time fellas.

I'd say the Euro is worth more to flatlanders. No turbo is a problem for those a mile high.

I'm partial to white/blue

I think it's a great color combo. Just not tops on most people's list...

Well at least by 1984 they had the 722.3 transmission - so that's a plus.

As a rule of thumb I guess you'd be better off finding out what a 240TD is worth and then placing the (non turbo) 300TD between that price and a 300TDT
