So I had the idea a few years back to somehow integrate a kidnapping into a birthday party. Unfortunately the girl we were going to "kidnap" moved but the idea still remained: We would kidnap someone in my dad's 240D, since the W123 used to be a classic terrorist car (they had something right). But recently I formulated the idea that we would actually make this into an advertisement for the 240D. We would drive up, jump out grab an individual, shove them into the car and drive off. We decide we need to get onto the highway to blend in better but this is were the 240D comes in: We have to hit 60 to enter the highway (driving in Atlanta for it to make sense because you'll get into a wreck if you drive the speed limit), so stopped from a stoplight we will floor it to get it going and the camera will be focused on the speedo. The shot will last until it gets to 55 mph after like 15 or seconds then the commercial will end with:"To be continued". Otherwise with that last shot we could have the the camera focused on the driver shouting out the speed every second or so and when the "To Be Continued" screen could come up at about 55 MPH and the driver would continue talking "...56...57...57..." and then the ad ends. Does this sound like a good advertisement to represent the 240D? If I had a 200D I think it might work better considering they had even less power. Was there ever an automatic 200D? How many 200Ds do you suppose made it over to the US? What are 0-60 times for a 240D or a 200D (if it can get there that is)? I plan to just put the advertisement on Mercedes sites and maybe put it on my school's news since that is the car I will be driving in all likelihood.
