Suspension rebuild - subframe bushings
I am meandering through a suspension rebuild on my W124 93, 300D 2.5T.
Next step: Subframe bushings. Mine actually look good from all I can tell. Some hairline cracking is all I can see. But I have seen others mention this too only to find they are shot upon removal and inspection of what you can't see when installed. Question 1: What brand is recommended for both front and rear (of the rear of course) subframe bushings? I see FEQ and Lemfoerder available for fronts as kits plus Febi and sachs as the bushing only items. Similar for the rear/rears FEBI, Lem's and sachs available. I don't want URO crap after all this labor so which are the good ones? Question 2: Do I need to buy the 'kit' for the front (WO133-16140000) which has the lower washer and bolt or is reusing the old stuff OK? Happy to do it right, but also want to avoid just wildly tossing money away when not needed. Question 3: Is there a 'kit' for the rears? I only see that for the fronts sold with the bushings. For the rears I guess I can buy the bushings and then there is a kit p/n WO133-1629778 that looks like the washers for the rear/rears. Kind of the same question, it that mounting kit really needed? |
