gauge cluster upgrade question

I need to find a new oil gauge for my 1980 300TD, and am wondering if a cluster for an 1983 300D (turbo) will fit.

My cluster has the large clock, and no tachometer. This one on ebay does. I would think that the tachometer would need a seperate cable, but the backs on the clusters look the same.

Is the tach. controlled by the gearing ratios between the speedo and the tach?

It would sure be nice to know my RPMs!

The tach gets its signal electrically, so there is no cable. Having driven a few 240's, I would say that when it drones and you think you are going to go deaf, that it has reached its upper rpm limit.
As far as I know, you can interchange the two oil pressure gauges from the two different 123 chassis cars.

Have fun bidding, but dont bid too much...try some others sources too.
