two versions of a fuel sender for the W115 300D?
Good morning,
Does anyone know the difference between the fuel senders that were used on the W115 300D? They say around chassis # 29000 a different fuel sender was used. (does this coincide with the addition of cruise control as well?) From the online parts stores I frequent, it looks like only the "early version" is available. The reason I am asking is that I have a 1975 300D (serial # 1255) that I want to keep forever that has a "bouncing guage" at 1/4 of a tank . I bought a 1976 300D (serial #50xxx) for parts and to learn on. I have removed and cleaned (excellent DIY info on this forum) the fuel sender and wires from the 76 and they match up to the the electrical drawings of the 75. The 75 is currently in storage and I do not have access to it right know. Any help would be appreciated. Marc-André |

I have been buying parts from autopartsway.ca and some ebay stores and they say that it fits on chassis's below serial# 29141. I assume they are getting their info from a single warehouse source. Peachparts.com has one available but does not reference the chassis #.
