Bleeding like a slaughtered pig
Some of you may remember me here from awhile ago. I've been vacant awhile due to real life.
My 82 300D is officially bleeding like none other. The rear main seal is toast. Being it is such a pain to reach and the other issues she has (door seals toast, needs some body work/ paint). I've been going back and forth about letting her go. I'm thinking its that point in my life where I need something a bit more reliable/ maintenance free. I'm considerign an upgrade to an 06 CDI. Any advice

Are you 100% sure the rear seal is the source of the leak?
That is an incredibly rare event on a 617 engine. Especially at 155k miles. |

the CDI's are incredibly nice machines, and if you can afford one, and would like to drive it, then by allmeans, get it and post pics on here.
keep in mind, the issues you have with that car when they come up will stagger the checkbook. diagnostic computers, etc... I second Tango's question... make sure no turbo oil line has burst back there before condemning the rear main seal...

I'm 99% sure that it is the Rear Main.
I'm at 190k now.
