Pull head, manifold & turbo together?

FSM says to pull head & manifold together.
It looks like the turbo will be easier to remove once it's out of the car.
DogGuy pulled his head and said if he had to do it over again he'd pull
all three at once. Any reason not to do it this way?

I will have an engine hoist and a helper.

Thanks,
Jeff

If you have the engine hoist, pull it all together.

Without a hoist I'd try to shed as much weight as possible before removing the head. With a hoist the weight isn't an issue... enjoy the extra space to work with it out of the car. One tidbit though.... if there are any stuck bolts on the exhaust they will be easier to torque against with the head bolted down. You may want to be sure things move before you take the head totally off.
