I paid 2300 for a very nice, rust free all original manual euro 240, an 84 (not a mistake). Perfect carpet and interior, crank windows, all systems working as new. It's only downside was window and door rubbers that would soon need to be replaced. It had around 200K verified miles and fairly good maintenance records. I sold it last fall after putting 36K miles on it for 2600.

Just took a look at it. Nice guy, older gentleman who's retiring and moving. He's owned the car for all its life and the whole time he's been in RI but kept the car garaged. I think it's a nice car for someone at the right price. For the moment, he's hugging his $5,000 price (which of course he will never get....he doesn't seem to know much about the current market). I told him I could be interested for the right price, which wasn't anywhere near what he's asking. I told him some of what I've learned from you guys about the market for these cars.

Odo reads 122,xxx, says it stopped a couple of months ago.

There's some belt whining and instrument cluster doesn't work....he's getting those fixed on Monday.

Interior is really very nice....other than wood trim on glove compartment. Front seats have had covers on them from Day 1.

Significant bubbling (looks like a botched paint job) and some rust in and around right front wheel well, and rust at right front jack point. For a 30 year old New England car, though, rust isn't at all bad.

Drives/handles very nice....makes me realize how much I miss a manual!

AC doesn't work.

In sum, it's a fair/good condition low mileage 240D manual. Certainly worth snatching up for the right price.
