Question 123 to 126 tranny swap question

Hey everyone. I was told that if I wanted to use a tranny from a 1980's 123 " D CD TD " in my 1981-1985 SD 126. And all I had to do was swap out the tail piece to go from a mec speedo to a ele speedo. Now when I put the tail piece from my 300SD on the tranny from a 300D, and there was a small opening left. If I am facing the output shaft it was on the upper left hand side. Its about the size of a pencil around. I did not have a cam to take a pic . So I put the mec speedo tail pice back on and put tranny in the 300SD. I have been using my Tom Tom as a speedo. What is going on ? What should/can I do to fix this?
Thanks. Jay

You must be looking at the oil squirter for the mechanical speedo gear.

The only thing I can think of is removing or looping back the oil jet and JB welding the hole.
