Unbolt the six flex-disc bolts. That's the connection between driveshaft and diff.

Be sure to mark the position of the Yoke where it goes into the Drive Shaft so it can go back in the very same place.

When you loosen the Clamping Nut that goes around the end of the Shaft that the Yoke goes into that allows the shaft to go collapse into itself and gives room to deal with the Flex Discs and pry them away.
Be careful when removing the Flex Discs not to damage the separate Central Bushing as they are around $60 each to replace.

Below is a pic of the Bushing. I beleive there is one on each end of the Drive Shaft where the Flex Disc is.

It appears you may be referring to the CV axle / halfshaft that drives the wheels from the diff.

You will have to drain the diff then remove the back cover. Once inside, there is a stubborn circlip that holds each axle in place. That is all.

If you were speaking of the Rear Axles the Axle end that goes through the Rear Wheel Hub needs to be freed first before removing the Differential end of the Axle.
Between the Axle and the Differential there is also sometimes Spacers that you need to keep track of.

Only thing wrong is that it isn't a sentence.

Might writing skills combine a fine mix of Public Education, dementia and poor typing.
I will celebrate my 60th Birthday at the end of the Month; if I can remember it.

I'm hoping to celebrate my 60th also and am not awfully far behind you. Got new ball joints in my ass & they are functioning well. Working on maintaining all fluid pumps, O2 intake system and ECU. Empirical evidence says maintenance is easier than replacement.

It`s my 68th today, no new parts, just keeping the old parts running smooth.
