I posted about a later egr 3/2 set up, sorry for the confusion. Won't work on your engine.

The green thing is a vac/air damper.

She has been resurrected! Still little issues to deal with but she runs and drives great. Have a couple vacuum issues (modulator valve, broken line between door and body), thermostat is either missing or stuck open (not getting warm enough), will need to rebuild A/C this spring. Thanks for all the help!

I would like to block off that box on my 84 300SD.

The first shot is of what the manual says 1980.

The second shot says 1981, transition year?

blocking the box and thermo valve.

With the little 3/2 valves under the box you can replace them, but not the S shaped little lines. So what I did with mine was remove all that crap and trash it.
Now from firewall you will have a vac line going to transmission valve on the injection pump.My sure there is a Y connector before the plastic trans valve. One line to the trans valve on injection pump the other to transmission modulator under the car.
You done the rest is garbabge.
To satisfy California Law Dogs, leave mess intact, have a line running to no where.

I live in KY so I trashed the whole thing. Looks much better. Gotta put a turbo on now, so not quite resurrected.
