Anyone ever seen a black 124 diesel wagon? I came across a black gasser wagon today, and it looked sweet. Too bad the front end had been chopped off.

For some reason, Mercedes seems to have always sold its diesels in a limited range of colours. Well mostly, anyway.

I see w116s, w123s and w126s in off-standard colours in eBay listings and such. But here in Canada, I can assure you it's unusual to see one in OTHER the very ugliest of stock colour combos.

you see a diesel 124 wagon in black for sale here in the uk every so often, i was tempted by one once but it looked a bit too hearse-like for my liking...

Yes. I test drove a 1987 black 300TD a year ago. Grey interior. Had some bad rust repair or I might have bought it.

Black one in Chattanooga the other day.... yes it was a diesel, I stopped and looked at it. Sharp car...

There was a really nice on on eBay recently in Maryland, I think. I'm pretty sure it was black, though I might have it confused with another.

How hard would a diesel swap into an 124 gas wagon be? I just read that they get 18mpg.
