WANT: W123 Euro bumper (rear)

Fixing up my 1983 300D Euro that is missing the bumper due to rear-end damage (before I owned the car). I found a W115 at Pick-N-Pull and almost snagged the bumper because it looked like it might mount on my car. Wondering if there are any cross-compatible bumpers I could look for.

Also wondering if I need the 1-piece or 3-piece bumper...or will either work?

Still looking for a bumper...I understand most sedans came with a 1-piece bumper, but a 3-piece would be awesome if will fit.

I have one, with brackets, $100 plus shipping. It's 3 piece Euro for the sedan.

I understand that only the 280E sedans came with these bumpers...will it hold tight on the car until I can get some holes drilled for the fender brackets? How much for shipping? Can you post/email pics of the bumper off the car? kahlil at sagescomputer dot com

I already posted a bunch of pictures on the other threads. What holes ? The bumper bracket bolts up to where the standard bumper bolted up to and every 300 or 240 I have seen has the "holes" on the lower quarters where the "P" bracket with pads go.

Excuse my ignorance, I haven't found very many threads on the subject and could swear somebody told me the sedans required an extra hole for the 3-piece bumpers...maybe they just meant the NAm cars. As long as everything will fit, and shipping isn't too painful, I'll take it.

Hey,

I am thinking you will have to remove your current bumper to double check. I could be wrong. I used to own a 300D (1985) and it had the rear quarter side holes. I have zipped through three 240D's in the last 9 months and they had those holes. They have rubber grommits. Actually, you can check by removing the black plastic trunk inserts that go on the L & R side. You will see a hole and hopefully a rubber plug. You will still need the "P" styled brackets. If I dont need them for the front, then I got a set for sale. Take a look at the pictures in the threads on STD under the Phoenix Project. I am thinking you should be able see what the heck I am talking about.

If if you have a factory Euro 240d or 300d with the one piece bumber and rubber ends, there will be no additional hole on the lower quarter panel. You will have to drill one if you wanted to install the three piece Euro bumber or the US spec bumper.

Car has no bumper at the moment, here are some pictures of the rear end with holes visible. The smaller ones further back have gotten rusty inside.
I've been unable to load SuperTurboDiesel the last few days. Can you re-post the pics from that thread?
