I am wondering if a previous owner of this car replaced the fuse with the proper amps....

My blower has stopped working and the fuse is definitely blown. pulled it out and it was marked 25 amp...... i think that is too high.

also, an important observation.... when I use the windshield washer, my high beams flash on while I press the handle to activate the washer....

I think the lights come on even if the headlights are not on. saw the lights flash in a storefront window glass while cleaning windshield in a parking lot!!!!!

The factory bullet type fuse is 25 amps. There was a service campaign to replace it with an externally mounted 30 amp strip fuse.

the fuse is supposed to be 25 amps, but it'll totally burn out the fuseblock WAAAY before 25 amps is reached... the fuse block cannot handle that flow of power. usually it means the blower bearings are failing, and it's time to pull and service your blower motor. the later 124's had an external fuseblock that was designed to handle the power, and it works to bypass the problem fuseholder.
