240d a/c compressor clutch debug help request
 

Hi guys

My 240d a/c isn't working. I pulled the plug off the compressor and checked the voltage while the car was running. When manual cold control off get 0.3 volts. When cold control on max I get 2 volts. What could be the problem? Where should I look?

the first place to check is the pressure of the refrigerant line. get a set of a/c gauges, and test the pressure. if you are above 30 it'll be out of the low pressure cutoff... the 240's a/c is pretty simple, pressure switch, and dash control. that's it. if it has pressure, and the switch works, the next place is to check the fuses. figure out which one controls the a/c and change it with a new copper one. check back after that.
