om616 swap

Not too long ago I purchased a 240d as a parts car. I have taken the body apart and I am left with a om616 engine. Now i want to put the engine to use and put it into a small suv such as a ford bronco or a jeep. I was wondering if anyone here has done such a thing. Is it possible to swap an om616 with little or no modifications and which suv is the best option. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

If you try searching on Ranger I think you will find that someone on this board has a Ford Ranger with one in place.

If no one has mentioned it to you before, it's usually more effective to use Google instead of the built-in search engine here.

For example, type something like this into Google: Mercedes OM616 Ranger site: Peachparts.com

It's even easier than that. PeachParts has a built-in Google Search. Just make sure you're logged in and then click on the search option and you will find not only the built-in search option, but a Google search specific to the site as well. I never use the built-in option myself.

The 617 seems to be the favored engine for these swaps. Although if going into a Toyota pickup, or 4 runner the 616 will fit better. The pickup is about 1000lbs lighter then the 240. I almost did this conversion except for a rotten frame.
