The question I have is why buy complete injectors that have to be pop tested and balanced as a set. Buying just nozzles might be more economical in the end.

I'm beginning to suspect that, when the time comes, I'll just buy Monark nozzles and have my injectors rebuilt by a reputable shop. Will cost me about $70 each, but I'm sure I'll get a high quality product.

FYI here's the email I got from Monark:

Dear David,

many thanks for your emails.
Well, you already contacted Mercedes Source, who is our distributor and specialist for MB diesel Passenger cars.

They already contacted us regarding the injector for the 602 engine.

You are right, the article 037 272 266 fits a 602 engine, but we took this item our of production, as sales was very weak.
I need to have orders placed for at least 150 pcs to get it back in …

The nozzle, which applied to this injector is Bosch 0 434 250 176 = Monark 039 305 176 which also Mercedes Source is purchasing from us.

I am sorry about this injector. I guess the only source is Bosch or Mercedes ….

Best regards

I've installed 2 sets of Monark nozzles into injector bodies. 83 300 D turbo and a VW Jetta. Both sets did not require any adjustment to shims, just cleaned and used all orig parts and the nozzles all popped within specs per my commercially made pop tester. The only adjustment I had to make was to rotate one of the nozzle pintles to correct a slightly off center spray pattern.

I've read enough about Monark to gather they are supposedly the bees knees of injector nozzles. I've also seen a video comparing the spray patterns of new Monark nozzles vs old, tired Bosch nozzles.

I have fresh, but reman Bosch injectors. What I'd like to see is more info comparing fresh Bosch to new Monarks. Anyone have a bead on anything like that?

I've seen that video too - it seems a bit unfair to compare old with new. Perhaps we should do a video comparing new with new?

Comparing the 2 types of new Nozzles is not the issue. Longivity is the issue.
The Indian Bosch Nozzles simply do not have the same longivity as the old German or French made Bosch Nozzles.
There is not a lot of info on internet the Indian Bosch but what I have read was complaints.
So far people seem to be liking the Monark Nozzles.

This knowlege may be too old to be useful; when I worked in a Fuel Injection Shop 1975-1980 we used mostly Bosch Nozzles mainly becasue the were cheaper and that satisfied the customers.
At that time they were all made in Germany.
When testing the Injectors it would not be odd for 1 out of 10 of the new Bosch Nozzles to be out of spec and there were quite a few boderline ones.
I have tested about 40 Injectors with Monark Nozzles and all but one Nozzle were (on a scale of 1-10) were 9-10s.
The spray pattern, and the test you do to see how well the Pintle seats in the Nozzle were all extremely consistant from nozzle to nozzle (with the exception of the one I mentiond)
None of the Pintle type Bosch Nozzles I tested in the past were that consistant.
I would say that back in 1975-1980 American Bosch, CAV and Simms actually made better quality Pintel type Nozzles (the type Mercedes uses) than Bosch did.

keep in mind that blocked vendors are often blocked for a reason...

also, it's appearing that the monark nozzles are getting bad reviews...
all the posting with letter changes, and spacing to get by the site's autoblock I'm letting alone for now, due to the fact nobody else seems to have these parts. however, I'll be editing out all the references soon...

it's STRONGLY recommended to skip the monarks, and just order Bosio or Bosch and be done with it...

How are we going to make fun of his videos, particularly when he says, "VCV valve?"

According to what?

I have rebuilt hundreds of injectors with Monark nozzles and have not had a single complaint about a nozzle.
