Gasket Modification??? Victor Reinz have proper design?

Does the Victor Reinz Oil Filter Housing Gasket, (Housing to Engine), need to have to be cut out for the oil system to work optimally? proper oil flow?

http://www.***************/secure/PartImages/6161840780.jpg (Sorry that unable to post own pics yet)

The gasket covers up portions of the where there is open space on the housing and engine block. The gasket appears to be multi-purposed as there are more bolt holes cut out of it than are required.

Shouldn't I cut and remove the portions of the gasket where it is not "metal to metal"? (Where housing is against engine block)

Don't look so much at the Oil Filter Look at the actual Passages that are on the Block.
Look at post #19 in the below thread; I posted some pics of gaskets.
Also post your comments on the Victor Rinz Gasket there.

Yep, some serious thought went it to the real Mercedes Gasket; it was only a few dollars more than the after market one. Pics are posted in the Thread-

However, the original Gasket I removed was simply a gasket made of Paper and that lasted a very long time so I would doubt if the Victor Rinz Gasket would cause any issues.

Yeah...I think the Victor Rinz Gasket will work based on the pics of the Mercedes Gasket.

I think I'm going to order the Mercedes Gasket and see I i have the patience to wait the few days it going to the dealer.

I got the gasket along with other parts from an online Dealer that sells the real Mercedes parts .

I have never been to the local Long Beach Mercedes. I did an internet search on that place and the info on it was not positive.

However, some day I am going to get out to the Mercedes Classic Center in Irvine.
