There was no 350 anything in '86. There was the Euro W116/M116 350SE/L through '79 or '80 then the W126/OM603 350SD/L from '90. There was the W126/M116 380SE/L and R107/M116 380SL/C in the early '80s.

I should definitely take a look at the head. Would the oil pan be useful?

Oh.... OH .... and it had a perfect dark Gray dash. Anyone need one? It's my understanding it would fit a 300SDL.
ME ME ME. On the dash that is....

Weird.......indeed.

Well, yesterday, in search of certain parts, I made it to the junkyard.

I found a 1981 380SE ---- it had Euro front and rear bumpers and Euro lights; but both lenses were broken and the reflective headlight surfaces had some rust on them. No trunk badge; although the VIN plate on the door said 380SE. Front bumper looks decent; rear bumper had a dent in the chrome section.

The really weird thing is it had an OM617 engine in it. Odometer read something like 385K --- wonder if those were miles or kilometers?

Weird huh?

Pick & Pull treasures

A set of very good shape W126 palomino leather frontseats
Still good probably from the sheepskin covers on them.
New al117x alternator. A perfect sun visor. And a week ago,
a brand, brand new Nissens radiator.

Just noticed this thread started a year ago.

Today was still 50% off for toolkit cards.
So the seats were 25.00 ea.
Couldn't get over there for the sale til today. I'm self employed so
I took the afternoon off to scowl in the JY

Are you selling? Possibly interested in the seats.

Nope. Those are going to replace my good MB Tex ones
which are starting to have motor issues. Sorry

I know this was 10 months ago, but get a seat bottom spring box from a 2nd gen W126. will fit perfectly in your 240 and will have the up graded springs. your 123 seat covers will fit perfectly and will have a nice new seat. grab the pass side seat, doesn`t get as much use.

Good find Rooster.

suppose to be a good storm hitting Wed thru Sun, so will have some soggy PNPing. .

Been to three junkyards in the last week. Found two perfect CLK ultra light weight rims- but left them with the third messed up one. Found a straight front euro bumper, and a 603 IP. One w123 wagon but mostly w124's and w126's. Some steel hubbie rims, and misc other parts. Not many w123's at all.

One 603- I was thinking of you for the IP. Someone removed the IP lines- so the IP is there but stuff might have fallen into the openings. I would have bought the CLK's also but they now charge like $40 a rim for alloy rims. Sheesh... what do I need two CLK's for? I already have four SLK's and four CLK's non super light weights.

HEADS UP --- TWO nice interiors; Burgundy coupe and Black for SD gen I

I found a w126 coupe yesterday; Gen I .... I think; it has almost perfect Burgundy seats in it. So nice that I couldn't take the door striker plates off until I posted on the forum if anyone wants part of the interior.

I also found like a 380SE, Gen I w126 car with pretty nice BLACK interior. Again, I couldn't take the door striker plates off until I posted on the forum.

Both had the bundt style wheels --- 3 in total that were perfect in appearance; thinking about going back for the wheels today after I survey my inventory.
