charmalu, a question about Metric block
Charlie, how is your replacement Metric block marked? Is the block's factory serial number still in place? Did Metric fix a plate to the block like MB does?
Thanks, Sixto 87 300D |

I looked the engine over and only see the numbers on the side of the block behind the oil filter housing. 617.952 110605. And the numbers cast in the front of the block.
As i remember when I purchased the long block, there were no tags on it. I`ll give Mike at metric a call in the morning and ask him about it. Charlie

Charlie it would appear the block still has the factory serial number, although you may have missed a couple of digits and it would of looked like this - 617952 12 110605. At least Metric gave you a block that matched the year of your car, I suspect the block came from an '85 car manufactured in the month of June.
