Does anyone know where to get information like original sales literature, reviews in early 80's magazines, stuff like this?

thanks

I've bought a couple brochures on Ebay. Expect to pay about $10 for a full line brochure, though. Makes it pay to collect old car brochures I now try to get to my local dealer at least once a year

I am still curious as to the original selling price of my car in 82. If anyone has any idea, I'd like to know. It's ivory with blue interior, with all options.

Cost would have been around $30k...

and if you're a member of the Mercedes Benz Club of America (I recommend), their magazine, The Star, has a large classified section for literature and other ephemera.

You can also write to Mercedes-Benz and they will send you a copy of your orig window sticker. That's how I found out exactly how much my car's cost.

Brad,
We paid about $32,000 in 1983 at Mercedes of Manhattan. It was for an almost loaded 300D Turbo with gas cut off security switch and block heater (among all the typical stuff) but it lacked leather and came with MB Tex vinyl. The vinyl still looks like new. The leather surely would have weathered, faded and cracked by now.

The prices of 300Ds ran around 29-32g for the typical MB Tex/sunroof configuration from 82-85. However, towards the end of 85, dealers were blowing them out for 25-26... Spoke to a few original owners and they said it was a deal at the time! Wish I can get a new one for 26g!
