looking for a specific thread-Battery tray repair
Okay, I did look and found more threads than I can read right now. We have a break in the weather tomorrow so I have to move fast. Here goes.
I replaced the washer pump and battery late in the summer and now see the white crystalline crud around base of battery and on the tray. The shop I bought the battery from does not offer an overflow bag for battery ( not a problem) However the rust and possible rust starting under the tray is of concern. I bought some Por-15 and am ready to get to work however there was a really good article from a member here who was very specific about what he used to neutralize and clean the already damaged are beneath the tray before hitting it with the Por-15. I have used baking soda and lots of water in the past however this car is rust free and I hope I am catching this early enough to save it. Not worried about the tray so much as any area beneath it. The member who posted the thread I am looking for was very detailed even down to painting the Por-15 repair so it look good. Thanks Alan

Thanks I will follow up and call you from the PM. I ended up at my Mom's home though. She had a pipe burst and the clean up and repair took awhile.
What is best to use to flush and clean the battery acid residue as well as neutralize it. Thanks Alan
