1980 300TD rear brake issue

My passenger side rear brakes were hanging up for a while. To the point that you can smell the burning of the right rear brake every time I drove the car. I replaced the rear rotor and caliper and bled it out and it is still doing the same thing. I thought that replacing the caliper would have taken care of the issue?

Perhaps it is the e-brake?

The ebrake works great. and there is equal ware on the inside and outside of the brake pads. The rotor that I removed was practically half the thickness of the new one in the middle where the pads sit. Almost like they were frozen shut.

... rubber line that's attached to the caliper? it'll lock the fluid in the caliper and cause lockup.

it is the rubber brake hose. it is swollen shut. replace it and your problem will disappear.

great....I just got home from work and pulled in the driveway and I noticed the rear brakes (passenger only) smoking. When I looked at the wheel the rotor was glowing and the brake pad was actually on fire.

It could be either of these 3.

1) Caliper sticking
2) brake hose collapsing
3) Master cylinder

It happened to my 300D, also on the passenger rear brake. I changed out 1, 2 but to no avail. Changed out (3) and all is fine. The problem was actually the master cylinder. Ask Charlie in No Cal about it. He fixed it for us.
