Let me know if you want some made. I'm happy to make them. Keeps me out of trouble. I'm currently waiting on two keys from DeliveryValve.
I'm happy to trade parts if people like as well.

No but I was just thinking about that today. Would probably be a wise investment and a big time saver.

Those key heads are beautiful Andrew.
I was thinking of making one out of black plastic, and glueing the 2 halves together. I bought some from a place called Tap Plastics. they have a container of scrap pieces of various thicknesses, colors and plastic types.

www.tapplastics.com

I was looking for a Dremel Router, but no one had any local.
just did a Google search and Amazon has a few.
Amazon.com: Dremel 335-01 Plunge Router Attachment: Home Improvement

Not all as pricy as I thought

I wanted to show my appreciation for the craftsmanship on the key head Andrew made for my W123.

I found that if you hold the key at the center of the fob, they don't break out.

How well do these hold up to being swished around with other keys and the metal key rings that they will inevitably be placed in?

Over the past 4 years or so I've made nearly 15 of these key for folks here, and not one of them has broken, atleast not to my knowledge. They do get a little stuffed up over time, just a rub down with some fine steelwool and a fresh coat of poly they look brand new again. I've dropped my keys a few times, with no problems. They are pretty tough, they are wood and aren't bulletproof, but they deal well with the normal day to day wear. And they outlast the new plastic ones for sure.

That's what I've been doing, but the key head on the photographed key still broke, albeit a bit later on. Even the original keys with the sturdy heads are about to break off completely.

I feel bad for scratching up the key head a little bit, but I had to insert a tight-fitting smaller key ring so I don't always have to do this when transferring key chains.
