Proper brake fluid for 73' 220D

Can anyone tell me? Can't find a specification in the forums or on any of the literature I have...

You need "DOT 4" brake fluid, has a higher boiling point than regular DOT 3 fluid used in older American iron.

Some brands include Castrol LMA,ATE Superblau(sic), and others.

By all means, avoid "DOT 5", or any type of synthetic brake fluid.

all brake fluid is synthetic...

you do want to avoid "DOT 5" but it's silicone... not synthetic...
