W124 Wagon Springs - Sportline or 500E?
 

In my ongoing pursuit to get my wagon's suspension up to 100% (or perhaps 120%) I am now looking at replacing the rear springs. I am fairly certain they are worn out. I am wanting to determine if Sportline Springs or 500E springs are going to be stiffer. Both are available on Parts.com. Here is a writeup with some part numbers

I am looking to drop my car no more than one inch, and gain some stiffness in the ride and body roll. In my brain the 500E seems appropriate because I thought the wagon weighed more but as it turns out, the 300TD is 3400 lbs or so and the 500E is closer to 3900.

Yes I want some comfort, but also some decent track performance. Recommendations? The H&Rs are not appealing to me and lower the car too much and I hear they are a stiffer ride.

Are there any suspension mods you can make to a TD with SLS? Are you going to ditch SLS?

Keeping the SLS for sure...Hoping it is ONLY springs that need changing and not both springs and SLS shocks!

SLS will maintain ride height. You can't just lower an SLS axle by fitting a shorter coil spring. Lowering might be as easy as resetting the leveling valve but I don't know that it has an inch of adjustment.

I realize this, I have adjusted it all over the place, it will go from ghetto to redneck and everywhere in between. Ride height is not the concern, the ride being soft in the rear on turns is the issue.
