Center Support Bearing Whine
I've got a 124 I'll be selling this Spring. While everything in the drive train feels fine, there is an intermittent (more so when cold outside) center support bearing whine. I'd really like to avoid paying to have this repaired (close to $300)....and it's not something I feel comfortable doing myself.
Has anyone found any ways to address bearing whine by way of a short term fix? Like injecting grease? Or whacking with a rock?

YES
There are "Short Cuts" and then there are actions that Cut Off One's Cojones.
This is the ONLY "FIX" It is however,In keeping with your desire to pass on true quality to the N.O. , Available from the Verboten Purveyor @ 2850 S. Roosevelt #102 Tempe AZ, 85282 in a Uro Brand for a measly $15.75 USD [Disclaimer: I wouldn't use the mentioned part as an ashtray,much less install it on a Mercedes]

For the amount of work it takes to get to the bearing (drop exhaust, drop shield, etc.), $300 to replace it isn't a bad deal. It'll cost more if you discover at that point that it's time for new flex disks.

Syringe with needle, full of gear oil. You inject between the bearing seal & the inner race of the bearing. Take care not to pop the seal out. Dont drive through water or in very dusty conditions after if you damage the seal in the process.
