name that part no. - body plug

Pulled from rear floor pans, near where the subframe mount stabilizer plate attaches to pans via two bolts... Anyone by chance have a part number? Thanks hope everyone is having a great weekend. It has snowed, been clear skies and sunny, rained 1/2' rain drops, and blown 25mph winds here, all in the last 30 minutes.

They are in a funny section of the parts list at the dealer, with precious little info.

Yes I can second that. They are hard to locate and the info the parts guys have to go on is very vague.

If you look really, really closely on the old one there should be a part number stamped into it. On the outer rim, if memory serves. Even a partial will help the parts guy.

The good news is they aren't expensive, relatively speaking. I bought new ones for my 300td.

@ toomanyMBZ It's a 69' 220D.

@ Zacharius Unfortunately this thing is so defiled that there is no discernable info to be found

What is the purpose of these anyways? Mine were installed underneath the soundproofing sheet, so they can't be there for worst case manual drainage situations. Tempted to use a healthy dose of silicone to seal them up good into the pans when I find some new ones. I'm trying to go gangbusters on any rust/future opportunities for rust.

If going gangbusters, then get on the carwell site, get yourself a gallon of t40 and cp90, and take advantage of those plugs being off by spraying in there!

Ouch well the w123 listings were hard to read (the parts guy turned the monitor around to show me) so I don't imagine the w114/115 ones will be any great fun either.

What are you looking for: originality or practicality?

If the latter, consider using some sort of fibreglass mat to plug the hole, with POR-15 or fibreglass resin or ? used to soak the mat and give it strength.

hmm can you get a pic of the area? maybe theres another one similar to it with visible part number? I went through a bunch of them with my 300SD's. I've got part numbers.

Thanks, I will check into the Carwell stuff. For this round, I already bought VHT rust converter aerosol to spray into those nooks and crannies I can't visually inspect, and grinder/wire cup and POR-15 process for what I can find.

@ jamesdean Thank you for that post. My plug looks similar to the photo 2nd from the top, although mine is maybe a little bigger. Think I'll check with the stealership on Monday...

I think I'm going to paint POR-15 on both sides of the plug holes, and then silicone the plugs in. That sound proofing material on the rear pans makes me nervous, and I don't want ANY water finding it's way into the cabin there.

I'd make sure to spray the creeping carwell rustproofing inside and on the underside of your car, prior to replacing any plugs and closing it up. This way you have fresh, oily rush inhibitor everywhere that water can collect and create issues. It isn't waxy, so even if the undercoat is bad, if fairly fresh, it can creep in and protect...
