replacing starter solenoid
my solenoid went bad on the starter. got a new one and replaced it today, but obviously i did something wrong. now when i turn the key i get a humming/whirring and then a grinding sound as i turn the key off. tried putting the new one in just the way i saw the old one come out, but obviously i did something wrong. is there anything special i should know?
one particular thing that i wasn't sure about was the orientation of the spring locked part that slides into the casing on the starter. any special way that needs to be oriented? |

The diagram is the only info I have.
I am sure folks are going to ask if it was a real Bosch Solenoid and also what your original symptoms were.
