Speaker questions

Hello guys. I have some questions on speakers for an 82 wagon. I am planning on putting in an alpine cde 123 head unit and wanted to know the options of speakers. I have searched and looks like 4in is the factory size. I do not want to cut the car to install speakers. What would be a good set of front and rear speakers to purchase? It looks like there are not a lot of options for speakers in this size. Im not looking for deep bass i just want a good quality sound. I have been looking at the alpine speakers and would appreciate some input on what speakers you guys may have in your wagons. Thanks for the help and i really like the site. I have learned a lot on these wonderful cars. I would one day love to have a coupe then i would have all 3.

I believe the stock speakers are midrange only and have a custom fit and screw location configuration. The system can be upgraded but might require a little work to the new speaker's mountings.

On sedans and coupes, it is a bit easier to add larger speaker's on the rear deck. On wagons, I'm not so sure. I've got a wagon myself and would like to hear any edifying stories of successful speaker upgrades/installations as well.

the wagon's rear speakers are conventional 4 eye 4" speakers, and many choices are there for decent replacements, the sedan/coupe however use 3 eye 4" speakers, and without drilling holes in the shelf, or putting an enclosure on the deck, replacements are pretty difficult to source...

I am installing 6" speakers on the doorpanels, just below the dash, up front on a customer's 240, if it works out, that's an option...
