Eibach and H&R and Lemjefors?

I can't seem to get clear as to what I need.

I don't want to lower the car. I certainly don't want to "higher" the car either. I want pure stock height. Stiffer springs are ok too but I don't want it lowered.

I'll be happy to buy the springs from PP but they only carry the Lemjefors brand. Whatever that is. Are they the OE brand for MB?

Any advice is appreciated.

is one of your springs broken??

If not, I would leave the springs alone. For an improved ride I would install new shocks. Bilsteins. I think OEM is Sachs/Boge

I do not think the springs are broken but I think the prior owner never replaced the original shock (20+ years) so the car was basically riding on springs forever. the back springs are ok but the front springs are causing alignment difficulties i.e. the tech says he adjustments are already maxed out but it is still not within proper specs. my guess is the springs have too much sag.

it has new bilstein comfort shocks all around and it has made a big difference but changing lanes on the interstate is still not the best.

Do you think putting on Bilstein HD's in the front will help? certainly cheaper than new springs.

Which adjustment is considered maxed out by the "alignment" shop?

I would be very suspect of the alignment shop's capabilities. Many of them do not have the skills and equipment to align a car with adjustable caster, camber and toe.

I would look at the front end bushing's and ball joints. The Lower control arm bushings can "look" fine. but in fact be totally worn out.

Same with the ball joints. IMHO the suspension of these cars is designed almost too good. It rides just fine after many, many years of abuse. If those parts are of unknown age, I would look to replacing them as well. Also cheaper than another set of shocks.

Seeing as you have a W201. . .they are very popular. Find someone who has lowered, coil-over's, etc.. and pick up a nice set of used springs.
