let me see if i have the terminology down now after reading feedback - the wiper arm is the part that is attached to the car(lift up plastic cap and there is a nut under there) I consider this the lower part and the wiper blade assembly attaches to the arm I consider this the upper part. I need the lower part for a mercedes 300TDT W123 wagon (rear tailgate area) - I should have put that full desc in the beginning of post I will check the wagon today and see if it lying around in there - if not I will contact you Renntag - are you still looking for W126 blue leather seats and side panels? The part cutoff in pic is a blade assembly Hopefully I got this correct cause I need the lower part

Vick: Yes still looking. Thanks for asking. A couple other members had found something, but I was too busy to act.
So to help here. (Please note that unless you are driving an old english car, all parts are ATTACHED to the car.) For anyone else reading this in the future: The glass is "wiped" by the "wiper blade", a small strip of rubber that acts like a squeegee. The wiper can be in 2 designs, typically a frame of metal or plastic that provides tension and carries the "wiper blade refill". The other design is newer and the wiper is a non serviceable assembly that is curved in shape to match the contours of the glass. These are not able to be "refilled" with a new blade, hence "non serviceable". The blade assembly is guided across the glass by an arm. This is the "wiper arm" as logical names can be. The front glass is called the "windshield" or "windscreen" and the rear is simply the "rear glass". Unless you drive high speeds in reverse, you would never need to be "shielded" from wind at the rear of a car. Also note that "hatches" are always at the rear so "rear hatch" is redundant. There is no front hatch. As of now I dont suspect I will acquire an arm with any motor assembly, but if I do, I will let you know.

Vick, what's wrong with your current wiper arm?
I noticed the teeth were stripped out in mine ('82 w123 300td). I looked for a used one for a while, then I realized mine works just fine even with stripped teeth so I kept it.

the one in the pic is off of a 240D - the plastic cap at bottom (which covers the nut) is missing. The one that goes with with wagon (tailgate area) I lost when I removed it - go figure
