I'd like to have the 69 Camaro's small block instead of this pos 3.8 Mercedes in my black 126!

As a matter of fact, I'll take the Camaro over the 126 too!

on our 68 drag car, we pulled the crossmember, and boxed it for strength. we also used 3/8" stainless plate front and rear to hold the engine... similar could likely be fashioned to clear the pan of the 617.

fun fun!
keep us posted with the progress please.
I may move the thread to the performance section if much ado is made...

In 1976 I bought an engineless 68 Camaro. I wanted to put in a diesel but couldn't find an engine so I put in a 250 with a 4 spd. I think the OM617 is a nice engine for the car if you can overcome the sump problem.

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone put a om617 in a Mustang. There is one on Craigslist that is a project car, 1996 Mustang.
