Difference in thermostat housings help needed
1985 0m617 turbo
Ok guys im doing a conversion into a Land Rover and need to change my thermostat housing out for a shorter neck that the lower radiator hose connects to. I could cut and re-weld it but thought that maybe another motor maybe non turbo had a different "shorter" neck on the T stat housing. The problem im running into is the radiator is sitting to close and to high in my chassis to make a smooth bend from lower rad hose fitting to T stat housing. If anyone knows if there is a unit that will bolt and and be 3" shorter would be great. Thanks Ed |

A picture probably would help us understand what you need.

I don't think there's a shorter version out there - but like twalgamuth says post up a picture to make sure we're all reading from the same page...
As for welding it - good luck with that - it is an aluminium alloy. Are you great at TIG welding?
