Ok, I hate to do this. May the search gods forgive me. I have spent the last hour on this and other forums, on the net in general and on hold with the dealer, all to no availl. I was a bit didactic with my title in the hope that it will help someone in the future, because I sure as heck could not find it.

I am trying to determine what non-MB branded transmission fluid and differential oil I can use in my 1991 350SD. I am about to change the trans filter, and have already changed diff. oil, but am second guessing myself.

The car has a 722.361 transmission, and according to the vin information I got from the MB Classic Center, I do not have an LSD.

I have been using Castrol transmission oil for 68,000 miles with good results. They have changed the label thru the years, think it says " Dextron for older vehicles".
