I know i am getting at least 27mpg and right now on my current tank i think i am getting between 29-31mpg... you really have to keep out of the boost, and stop trying to keep up at the stop lights your car will show you how much it doesn't like it in the form of higher MPG numbers...lol

I have a 85 300d that came with a "larger" tank at 90l or something like 78l tank with a 12l reserve so 90l total...

What a bummer they didn't give us the 90ltr tank down here. My 95 e300d has only the 70ltr tank.

Not so bad these days but 10 years or so ago, I would have to drive around looking for a petrol station that had a diesel pump.

I keep my 5 ltr jerry tank in the boot full as a security blanket for those times where I'm running on fumes. Nothing worse than pulling into the petrol station only to find the 'out of order' sign on the (usually) sole diesel pump.
