A full new set of fuses with a a fuse terminal cleaning is a super place to start when electrical issues pop up. Copper/brass fuse elements only. NO aluminum ones.

Unfortunately my experience at local pnp's has been that I have yet to see a single 79-83 240D in one of these places..I've checked several times over the years.
