Diesel Purge in Canada - Eh?

Does anyone know of a source for Diesel Purge in Canada? I can get Lubro Moly
Pro-Line Diesel Injector Cleaner - but no Diesel Purge. Is the Pro-Line a similiar product?

Also what are you fellow Canucks using as a diesel additive? I can't find Redline - just some Gunk & Klean-Flow additives here on Prince Edward Island. (I would also appreciate a Can. source for Redline)

Sometimes it feels like I'm living on Gilligan's Island out here!!! :p
(now if I could only find Ginger!)

Funny you should ask? i'm picking up a case tonight from the courier depot. I'm a jobber in Ottawa trying to sell Redline 85+ via my business to other diesel heads in the Ottawa area. So I bought a case from:

Johnson Research Perfomance Inc.
(905) 564 8805
6985 Devand DR.
Units 11+12
Missassagua, Ont.
L5T 1Y6

I was not impressed. I started the transaction in November, it has taken 3 months to complete. I was originally quoted $72.77 per case of 12 bottles. By the time the stuff arrived at Johnson from California Johnson had increased their price to $88.00 per case. I sent them a cheque on December 20 and told them it was quite alright to to wait for the cheque to clear before shipping. I checked a couple of times in early January but was told that my cheque must have gone missing in the Christmas rush. I checked again in early February but was told the cheque still hadn't showed up. I told them that the cheque had shown up, on my bank statement, cashed by them. They then decided to ship the product.

THe other distributor is Motorsport Technology (905) 660 6614 also out of the Toronto area. These guys want in excess of $13.00 per bottle in a 12 bottle case (way too much).

Due to the experience I have had, I have sort of gone off Redline 85. I may try to see if I can set up a deal to resell Diesel Service because I can't find it at Walmart (Canada).

ajb,

Why not call Redline and order some directly from them? They will sell to consumers if you tell them where you live and there is no convenient distributor. Convenient is something you negotiate over the phone, but they will sell you products directly before letting you go to another brand because they have such an underdeveloped distribution network. I have to drive 35 miles to get to a Pep Boy's where the additives are available, and further to get their lubricants. I have been successful establishing that is not convenient enough and they sell me directly on a regular basis.

I imagine there are no convenient dealers to you so the price will be the suggested retail price for Redline 85, which is something like $4.75 US in Pep Boys (may be $6.75), plus shipping. Give it a try, their web site is www.redlineoil.com, and there is phone number listed. Good Luck, Jim

Thanks for the help, Jim. I've e-mailed both Redline & Power Service in the USA, so I'll see what happens?

Schooner, if you are selling some Redline or a similiar product I might be interested in buying some from you & getting it shipped out here to PEI.

I use Stanadyne Performance Formula : it's a fuel additive like Redline 85+ that you add at each fill up (few ounces) . I find it at a small diesel shop here in Quebec City at 8 $ (canadian, including taxes). I've noted an improvement the first time I've used it but I can't compare with other products.

More info at :
http://www.stanadyne.com/dsg/dsg_dfa.asp

P.S. The Redline website does not mention any distributor in Canada.
