No 124 diesels in the US in '88 and '89.

Thanks for that and my wife thanks you too! IT looked good in the catalog and had only 134000 miles. Probably go for less than 800.00 as is where is.

He's in Canada, does this still hold true?

VIN WDBEA26D7KB033365

WDB = Mercedes
E = model 124
A = gasoline
26 = 124.026 model
D = seat belts + SRS
7 = check digit
K = model year 1989
B = place built (sorry I don't know; A = Sindelfingen)
Last 6 digits = chassis number

Jeremy

Good question. From what I've read on this site and others I believe the North American market received the same cars, but I could be wrong. I assumed he was in VT from his name. Like many others he makes us guess at location instead of listing it for us. Witness protection perhaps? ;)

Well I think I have to eat crow on this one. If I'd read his location better I would have known he lives in VT near the Canadian border. :o:D

He could be on the other side and just bought a Benz in VT.

Jeremy was able to give him a definitive answer so I think he is all set.
