Are Chrome Wheels in Poor Taste?
Looking at an older diesel (an SDL) that has BRIGHT CHROME WHEELS. What am I to make of such beasts?
|
I like chrome wheels on certain cars. A lot depends on color, etc. The chrome doesn't typically hold up indefinately, and thematically I'm not sure about them on an older SDL. All that said go with what you like. Just don't go for the darn wheel arch trims!

They're just wheels, you can replace them easily. ;)
Now if it were gold emblems... |

I think they look great. I was reluctant at first but now I love ‘em. |
i have chrome bundt wheels on my 300D and i HATE them. they are far too blingy for the W123, and they look like garbage.. all pitted and tarnished and whatever after 30 years.

I don't see a problem with chrome OEM-style wheels, especially on darker-coloured Mercedes. I think they make the car stand out nicely.
However, I do have a prob with the aftermarket, 20-inch chrome bling-bling things that some people stick older cars (Mercedes or otherwise). Way too gangsta for me. I've sent you a PM, Shertex. |
