3 weeks and the 300sdl a/c is still working!
Well, it has been 3 weeks since I installed the new A/C compressor, drier, expansion valve, seals,etc... and it is still working just fine. No leaks, blowing nice and cold, it has been in the 80's here with our typical Louisiana humidity and I am satisfied that I did a good job. In fact tonight I re-installed the interior panels, and tomorrow I will install the underbody noise encapsulation panels. I want to thank all on this board who have done this before me, because I read all of the posts and the information here really helped me.
In the past month I replaced the radiator, upper and lower rad hoses, thermostat, vacuum pump, serpentine belt, A/C compressor, drier with switches, expansion valve, fresh coolant ( MB brand only ) fresh trans fluid and filter, new transmission cooler hoses, driver's side Guide rod mount and bushings. All in all about $1050 in new parts, and a lot of fun working on my car. I can only imagine how much this would have cost me if I had a dealer do this work! Nothing against dealers, but this is a 1986 300sdl, and my car is older than most MB dealership Technicians! Have a good weekend all!
