Horrific sound on turning L/R when loaded

well..

today I had a chance for a first time to drive a 4 adults in
car, nothing to worry about , but, only when turning left/right car made
horrific "metal grind" noise from the rear.

especially if I try to clime up on sidewalk with rear wheels .... whole chassis
was squealing .... what's your thoughts .... rear bearings?

tx

my Car had been making a groaning sound when I back up.
To day I checked the Rear Wheel Bearing end play thinking I might be loosing a Wheel Bearing. It was OK.

I was going to check the Differential Oil level and looked up and saw my Rear Cross Member that the Differential Mount Mounts on is rusted through, cracked and bent some.

It may be your Axles, Rear Wheel Bearings if the sound is from the Rear or Pinion Shaft Bearing. Not so easy to check the above stuff.

metal squeez sound when loaded

.

I have taken my wheels off and I can't see any trace of
alloy wheels scratching to something.

next I will try to take my rear axles down to inspect for looseness and play
also a good time to re-grease those with new ball bearing grease and replace boots.

do I have to just unscrew bolts indicated on picture and pull out the axle?
also do I have to empty diff. before this action?

IMHO my axles are not swaped so I can just swap sides ..like left to right... right?

edit : found this one : Rear Axle Removal Question

swaping question remains
