LOL I was expecting a small block under the hood with that paint job... in fact I could rock that if it had a 350 in there

I love clean engines, so give him some points for effort there, but yellow and red accents just don't make it... sorry

.... even if they are chromatically coordinated with the body flames... which also don't make it.

... I don't see the turbo, but the piping could be hiding one...
either way... gotta love the high tech intake pressure pipe...

I cannot fathom why someone would turbo a N/A 300, or put N/A intake on a turbo'd 300...

This guy has had it posted on Cleveland CL for about a month. Was asking $2k, IIRC. I kind of want to see it in person, but I don't want to waste his time. I have no intention of purchasing it.

I'm pretty sure they stopped using those around 1980.

1979 was the transition year. Early models (like mine) had a York. Later 79 models had an R4. Pretty certain all 79 300SDs had an R4 as there would be no room for both a 617 turbo and a York.

Longer runners! My 2056V *almost* fit...there was a 3/8" clearance issue and no amount of acetylene would bend that manifold.

No rust "showing" says enough for me. That's without taking into consideration the hideous paint job or the even more hideous engine compartment.

I'm sorry for his loss.
