DOOD SUCH A LEGIT BENZ GUY!

Mercedes-Benz : 300-Series Mercedes-Benz : 300-Series | eBay

It's not even the flame paint job that bothers me that much. It's the cheap looking skull shifter that someone picked up at VIP. Someone should take a chance and buy it just to save it from its current state.

Its a 240D......I'm not sure if they can go fast enough to cause the fire to blow back along the car like that. :D

sleepstar 04-06-2012 02:01 AM

i think it really is a 300D, there's five cylinders.
initially i thought "hey, at least the motor's been done over with new hoses everywhere" until i realized all that colored crap is just covers for the hoses already there. d'oh.
wtf is the point of the hood scoop??

wait its a 77? was there a factory turbo on a w123 300D in 77??

Hmm... 300D 617 NA. You ain't going nowhere fast. Guy prolly got sick of being challenged and losing.

300D NA is NOT a racecar, it's a driver's comfort car.

satyr 04-10-2012 01:38 AM

I just choked and I think I threw up a little....

Compared with what I've owned before it's a race car (and you're not telling me otherwise)!

The spoiler and scoop have to be worth an extra 20 mph...and as unappealing as the exterior is, whatever is going on under the hood takes the cake.

Hmmm.... it looked MUCH better in this picture of it for over a year ago...

I looks horrible now. And whoever painted the stuff in the engine didn't prep the surfaces of anything... look at all the paint flaking off everything. What a mess.

Still, I do like the flame job... I would drive that and leave the scoop and spoiler... I thing it's hilarious on a diesel and worth keeping just for the laughs.

In fact, this picture has been my desktop for over a year....

Weeeell. I'm not sure what you've been driving there Army.

As for my W123 83 300D 617 Turbo, I still wouldn't call it a race car but it will throw your head back if you didn't expect it. I can actually accelerate appreciably going uphill.:D

I'll say this too - as garish as the paint job is on that car, it looks alot better than my much chipped two tone finish.

sleepstar 04-11-2012 02:35 AM

i could see keeping such a paintjob as a laugh on a vw rabbit diesel.. or a diesel vw caddy pickup.. just looks way too out of place on a MB for even a gag

I always chuckle at a seller that tells about somehting that is broken...........then ends the sentence with "its an easy fix". If it's so #%@# easy why didn't the seller do it before trying to sell?

Almost impressive a write as "AC doesn't work - just needs freon"
