It seems a long time from when I first encountered this weathered 83 coupe sitting under a tarp in a local driveway .Encourage by the low mileage and some documents that went with it I followed through with the purchase .Fast forward 4 years later I finally have it presentable and road worthy .Last inspection tag since 1994 was applied from the inpection station attendent and he joked that the last inspections guys missed something and that I might want to have them recheck their service.Pulled out for a days drive with a few little flaring issues to work out but man I can see what all the fuss is about on a perfectly tightly sprung suspention. It drives like new and with most seats replaced with fresher ones it feels and looks new inside also. Not a garage princess by no means ,its life began pampered but from my understanding due to its realitive short road use was as it seems and appears ,unwanted and unused. It was a lot princess ,car sales lot that is.The weathered leather seats were a turn off ,the shifting issues were not fixed giving unexperienced hands a doomed look at trannie failure, the redish brown paint was wet sanded the looked like primer. All to find its way years later in wanted carrying grease filled hands.I hope to take to the hill country this year for some road excursions ,video and photo the trip for posperiatey.
