ATF top-up?

Hello,

My ATF is low, it is spot-on the lower hashmark. What would be a good starting measurement to bring it back to standard?

Cheers.

it depends of model,my car (300sd) is good on spot on when cold and
engine off,... because when on 30dg temp.,engine running and in p position
it is exactly 10mm below lower hasmark as it should be.

see the attach.

cheers

Sorry guys, thought my vehicle was in my signature!

Its an 85' 300TD wagon, daily driver. I've had a very small leak over the past month and checked levels yesterday. I was on totally flat surface, trans in neutral and running. Level was at lower hashmark.

I bought a ketchup bottle at the dollar store yesterday that has both SAE/metric volume measurments marked out with a handy cone-type nozzle. Would like to be as presice with this as I can.

see pic and go sloooow

.

mate,...were you just started engine, put in P and do the measurement?

if yes .. you dont have to fill any atf ...please see pic above...

if the engine was worm (work temp.) then yes I suppose 2.5 dl will do
BUT you have to add slow 1dl by 1dl and allways with engine running and P
selected.

my indy made overfill few days ago so i had to pull out some atf ...
so be careful and patient.

p.s I suppose that you have 722.3 tranny?
