Searching fo an IP diaphragm

My 75 240d has been sitting in storage over the winter. I've been itching to get back to driving it. Anyways before parking it I was fighting with the idle speed. Sometimes it would idle at 1100 rpm, and other times way higher and lower. Car runs great otherwise. Spent a lot of time trying to adjust linkages without luck.

Tried seeing if the IP diaphragm would hold a vacuum... With my mittyvac attached to the back of IP I couldn't get it to hold any vac. Guessing the diaphragm is shot and causing my idle issues. I've read posts on the forum concerning this issue. However I can't seem to find a place to buy one.

Does anyone know where to buy one? I also read info that it must be set up properly to work. Should I just be looking for a 'new' pump? I'd love to attempt to fix this myself, but..

Thanks in advance. Hope to get on the road soon.

I was under the impression from a recent thread that MB didn't have them anymore.

IP diaphragm

Is it part # 1 420 503 030 ??? IF so, I think I might have one left and I can do much better on the price. Give me a few days to get some other parts shipped and I will post a pic:

I had 2 of these in my NOS parts:
FS --- daw's mega new old stock (NOS) parts

FYI, it might not be the diaphragm that's bad.

I had my IP rebuilt a few months ago at the urging of the local indy. It turns out that my diaphragm was in decent shape, but the bearings and seals on the poppet cam were worn. Either will cause a vacuum leak and related smoking issues.

I don't know how you'd isolate that with the IP still on the car, but perhaps someone else does.

Douse the poppet cam axle in oil whilst the engine is running. If you hear the rpm dropping, it is the axle.

Thanks for the replies. I'm probably going to buy a new diaphragm. If it something else i suppose it won't hurt to replace the original. Is the poppet cam the lever on the rear of ip hooked up to a linkage? I don't have access to the car right now so I can't test that out yet.

Btw email sent to Daw_two.

The diaphragm needs to be change with the aid of a dial indicator to set the compensation path.

The poppet cam is indeed the lever on the rear of the IP.
