Heater Blower Cuts out on 85 300D

Last year when I was doing an autocross run with the AC on in my 1985 300D and I was being a bit aggressive. I had a situation where when I mashed the throttle to the floor the fan for the HVAC system cut out. When I let up on my throttle the fan resumed. (I've had a similar thing in gassers where the manufacturer had a cut-out circuit for the AC under full throttle.)

I didn't pay too much attention to it at the time as it only happened when I was on the throttle hard and I was busy running the event.

This year when I was accelerating hard on the freeway with the heater on (no AC on at this time of year) a similar thing happened and has continued to repeat itself. It also happens when I am lightly accelerating and turning a corner... such as from a stop sign turning onto another street. This can't be right.

I don't think the heater blower motor has any vacuum interface and I know the car doesn't have an ac cut out switch (as described above in an old gasser I had)

I'm stumped by this symptom. Has anyone else had this issue? What did you do to fix it?
